Ingredients: Fish --- 750 gms Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp + 1/8 tsp Red chilli powder – 1.5 tsp + ½ tsp Table salt – 1.5 tsp + ½ tsp Ginger garlic paste – 1.5 tsp + ½ tsp Groundnut oil – 3 tbsp + 2 tbsp Onion – 2 Coriander leaves – ½ bunch Tamarind – 1 lemon size Coriander powder – 1 tsp Preparations: 1) Soak tamarind in 250 ml water for 30 mins 2) Squeeze the juice, keep aside Marinating fish pieces: 1) Add ¼ tsp turmeric powder, 1.5 tsp red chilli powder, 1.5 tsp table salt, 1.5 tsp ginger garlic paste to fish 2) Marinate it for 1 hour Procedure: 1) Heat 3 tbsp oil in a pan, add marinated fish pieces 2) Cover and cook on low flame for 8 mins (flip after 4 mins) 3) Fry head and tail pieces, cover and cook them on low flame for 6 mins only as they will fry fast (flip after 3 mins) 4) Keep the fried pieces aside 5) Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan, add onions, coriander leaves 6) Fry them till onions turn golden brown color 7) Add ½ tsp ginger garlic paste, fry on low flame for 2 mins 8) Add 1/8 tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp red chilli powder, ½ tsp table salt, mix well 9) Cover and cook on low flame for 3 mins 10) Add tamarind juice, 100 ml water 11) Let it boil on medium flame for 5 mins 12) Add coriander powder, give a mix and add fried fish pieces 13) Just shake the vessel to mix them (do not put ladle as the pieces may break) 14) Cover and cook on low flame for 5 mins 15) Rohu fish curry can be served with rice or chapati Note: If you don’t have a measuring cup, regular teacup will be approximately 100 ml (100 gms) #vitaceaekitchen #rohufishcurry #rohufishhealthbenefits
